Be sure to email in any questions, or even topics you would like to see us talk about! We will be discussing the transgender day of visibility, and most likely discussing a poster design for this website. Please come join us!

"TDOV is a day to show your support for the trans community. It aims to bring attention to the accomplishments of trans people around the globe while fighting cissexism and transphobia by spreading knowledge of the trans community. Unlike Transgender Day of Remembrance, this is not a day for mourning: this is a day of empowerment and getting the recognition we deserve!" This year’s theme is trans resistance (#TransResistance). In the increasingly transphobic global political climate, we must use our newfound visibility to mobilize trans people against oppression. Speaking out, taking direct action, and educating others is critical to our safety and wellbeing. This recognizes that while visibility is important, we must take action against transphobia. Visibility is not enough alone to bring transgender liberation. However, we can use visibility as a vital tool for transgender justice. We would like to thank activist and Trans Youth Leadership Summit fellow Caelan Damocles for coming up with this theme.
We hope march 31st will be a fun day to show our support for transgender people verywhere, whether in your local community and everywhere! Click the link below to view the website for more info! People find the need to be callous
We spend our lives building up the palace that we call our minds We put binds on that palace and keep the doors closed So nobody else will know what is inside But for those of us who open our doors and invite someone to rule with us Society breaks them down and throughout that kingdom it creates chaos It shouldn't matter to society whether that kingdom has two kings or two queens A queen who is a king or a king who is a queen Society shouldn't care if that princess is a prince We shouldn't have to convince society The world shouldn't expect every kingdom to have a queen and a king The palace we create in our minds doesn't need to be silenced We weren't violent So why put our palace behind bars? Why should you reprimand our scars? We worked so hard for this freedom We have been beaten just because we love A kingdom with a queen and king is not above one with two queens We may just be teens Or maybe even grown adults But no matter what size we deserve to be able to open out kingdom doors We no longer want to fight these wars - Andy Carr |
